Open chords and barre chords
Each diagram shows the easiest common shape. In C, A, G, E and D that is an open chord. Keys like F, B and Bb have no easy open shape, so the chart shows a barre chord with a fret number on the left.
A barre chord is a moveable shape. Learn the E-shape and A-shape barre chords and you can play most of this chart by sliding them up the neck.
How to use the chart
Read across a row to find one key's chords. Songs mostly stay inside one key, so the chords you need often sit near each other on the chart.
Don't try to learn all 36. Learn the open chords first, then add barre chords when a song needs them. Tap any chord below to hear how it should sound.
