Your First Box

To get started we are gonna be playing 'box 1' of the A minor pentatonic scale. There are 5 boxes in total that are all connected, so when you learn all 5 you will be able to shred in the minor pentatonic scale in any position. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Below you will find the first box of the scale. Play it from low E to high E, and down to low E again. Repeat this for a few minutes everyday, and it will eventually stick. I would advice you to also play along with the metronome provided below. Try working your way up to 100bpm!

🎸Pro Tip:

Try memorizing the shape and where your fingers are, rather than position. This is a shape that can be moved all along the fretboard, so don't get too stuck on this position.
