What's a chord?
A chord is when you play two or more notes on the guitar at the same time. Chords are made by pressing down certain frets with your fingers and strumming multiple strings together. Each shape you make with your hand creates a different chord. They are the building blocks of almost all of music.
Here's the cool part:
Most songs only use a handful of chords, so with just 3-4 basic chords you will be able to hundreds of popular songs. The goal of this course is to bring you to that level.
How to read chords
I have provided you with a picture on how to read chord diagrams. Put your left hand on the finger positions and strum all the strings with your right. This is a G chord and is one of the most popular chords out there, you're gonna be playing this one a lot.

Sounds awful?
Don't worry about it sounding good or doing it perfect yet. We'll be practicing this a lot. Just make sure you understand how to read the diagram!
