How to practice the spider walk
Put one finger on each fret: finger 1 on the first fret of the drill, finger 4 on the last. Play one note per click, string by string, then walk back down.
Keep your fingers close to the strings and leave each one down until the next note needs it. Start at 60 BPM. Speed comes from clean notes, not from rushing.
The other finger orders work the weak pairs, like 3 and 4. Higher up the neck the frets sit closer together, so start at fret 9 if the stretch hurts.
